Christian Liaigre
Born in 1943, Christian Liaigre studied Fine Arts and then Decorative Arts, but he did not design his first collection of furniture for Nobilis until 1981. In 1985 he opened his first store in Paris and furnished the Montalembert hotel in 1990. From 1997 he opened stores in New York – the Hotel Mercier in Soho – then in London, Chicago, Bangkok, Saint Barthélemy, and Kuala Lumpur where he also created an art foundation. His last address in Paris is in rue de Verneuil. The Wall Street Journal describes him as a “great minimalist”.
He’s had some prestigious clients: Larry Gagosian, Marina Abramovic, Bryan Adams, François Nars, Calvin Klein, Rupert Murdoch, Carole Bouquet, etc. His creations highlight the beauty of materials, the purity of lines.
Christian Liaigre designed models made by Maison Drucker for the restaurant of the Lutetia hotel in Paris.
